Gabriel Thomas

Gabriel Thomas is a sophomore at the University of Chicago studying Environmental Science and Economics with a data science specialization. He is interested in applying quantitative modeling and economic frameworks to climate and energy challenges. He currently conducts climate modeling research with the Climate Systems Engineering Initiative at UChicago, where he studies how stratospheric aerosol injection interventions may influence extreme weather risk. Previously, he worked in climate venture capital, energy consulting, and startup operations roles, contributing to projects spanning plastics upcycling, carbon-negative fuels, and climate technology investment analysis. On campus, he writes on climate and energy topics for the UChicago Tech Review, supports early-stage ventures through Midway Ventures, and wrestles for the university.
