Steph O’Connor

Steph O'Connor has been working in local government for nearly a decade on housing solutions aimed at preserving homeownership. With an academic background in urban planning, her work revolves around working to increase resilience of both the built environment and of communities. Steph works for the City of Chicago in the Dept. of Housing and manages Green Homes Chicago - a pilot program to provide free home energy upgrades and energy efficiency retrofits to Chicagoans. This program seeks to equitably decrease the City's carbon footprint while also increasing the resilience of vulnerable Chicagoans by decreasing their energy burden and improving healthy and air quality.
