Vivian Lee is an accomplished engineering leader driving innovation at the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and energy resilience. As Head of Department at Tokamak Energy, she leads research and development of in-vessel consumables—critical technologies that enable fusion as a viable, carbon-free energy source to meet rising global energy demands.
With a proven track record in delivering R&D projects, she has led cross-functional collaborations between industry, academia, and government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Energy's milestone-based fusion program. Vivian's expertise spans experimental thermofluids, rig design and fusion materials & manufacture, underpinned by a PhD in the topic of avionics thermal management from Brunel University of London. Her research achievements have earned multiple best paper and nominations for industry awards. A Chartered Engineer and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Vivian is committed to fostering the next generation of energy leaders who will shape a sustainable and resilient future.
